Disassembly (Front)

  1. Remove caliper assembly and brake pads. Open bleeder screw and drain brake fluid out of caliper. Close bleeder screw. Position a block of wood between piston and caliper. Apply small amount of air pressure through fluid inlet port to ease piston out of caliper.
    WARNING: DO NOT use an excessive amount of air pressure to remove piston. Excessive pressure can force piston out with enough force to cause personal injury. NEVER attempt to catch piston by hand.
  2. Using a plastic stick, remove piston seal from caliper and discard. See Figure . DO NOT use a screwdriver or other metal tool. A metal tool can damage seal groove, resulting in a seal leak. Remove bushings and seals.
