Oil Pressure Indicator

NOTE: On models equipped with engine warning light, temperature switch wire must be removed prior to oil pressure gauge testing.
  1. Turn ignition on (DO NOT start engine). Oil pressure indicator light should illuminate. If light does not illuminate, remove wire from switch and attach to ground.
  2. If light illuminates, replace switch. If the light does not illuminate, the light is burned out or an open circuit exists in the wiring harness between gauge and ground.
  3. If indicator light illuminates continuously with engine running and engine has adequate oil pressure, disconnect wire from switch. Light should go out. If light goes out, replace switch. If light stays on, repair wiring for a short circuit in wiring harness between switch and light.
