Brake Caliper & Pads: Removal

  1. Remove about 1/3 of brake fluid from master cylinder reservoir. Remove wheel. Disconnect wear sensor wiring connector from harness. To separate connector, press pads on harness connector and pull apart.
  2. Remove caliper-to-anchor plate attaching pins and lift caliper assembly off rotor without disconnecting hydraulic hose.
  3. When removing brake caliper, the anti-rattle spring will fall off. Remove inboard and outboard pads. Remove brake caliper from vehicle by disconnecting the hydraulic hose from brake caliper unit.See Fig 1 .
