Description & Operation: Notes

The brake system is hydraulically-operated, using a tandem master cylinder and power brake unit. The front brakes are single piston, floating caliper disc type. Each of the front brake pads have a brake wear sensor. A proportioning valve is used to prevent premature lock-up of the rear wheels. The rear brakes, on most models, are leading/trailing drum type. The parking brake mechanically operates the rear brake shoes.
