Ball Joint & Control Arm: Removal

  1. Remove ball joint cotter pin and castle nut. Carefully separate control arm from spindle carrier. Remove control arm pivot bolt at crossmember.
  2. Remove stabilizer bar attaching nut and front washer, at control arm. Pull control arm and bushings from stabilizer bar as an assembly. If necessary, stabilizer bar bushings can be removed from control arm. See CONTROL ARM BUSHING.
