End Play

  1. With turbocharger removed, attach Dial Indicator (4201-C) to the center housing so that the plunger contacts the shaft. See Fig 1 . Push turbine assembly away from gauge and set dial indicator to zero.
  2. Push turbine assembly into dial indicator to measure clearance. If bearing clearance is below .001" (.025 mm) or exceeds .003" (.075 mm) replace the turbocharger assembly.
