Oil Pan: Removal

  1. Disconnect battery negative cable and low oil level connector from dipstick (if equipped). Raise vehicle and drain oil. Remove starter. Mark steering column coupling-to-steering gear shaft. Remove steering column coupling pinch bolt.
  2. Remove nut retaining engine mount to crossmember. Lower vehicle and attach Engine Support Bar (D79P-6000-B), to vehicle and engine. Raise engine as far as possible. Raise vehicle.
  3. Remove bolts retaining steering gear to crossmember. Pull steering gear out and away from crossmember, disconnecting steering coupling from steering gear shaft. Use care not to damage gear hoses.
  4. Place a jack under crossmember and remove bolts retaining crossmember and side rail. Lower jack and crossmember. Remove oil pan attaching bolts and remove oil pan.
