Removal (Upper Intake)

  1. Disconnect battery ground cable. Disconnect throttle cable from throttle linkage. On automatic transmission models, disconnect kickdown cable from throttle linkage. Remove throttle cable bracket assembly and set aside. Disconnect fuel pressure regulator vacuum hose at intake manifold.
  2. Disconnect PCV hose at intake manifold. Disconnect vacuum tee supply hose at intake manifold. Loosen hose clamps and remove turbocharger outlet hose. Remove EGR bolts and remove EGR and gasket. Remove nut attaching pulse damper to bracket and remove pulse damper.
  3. Remove engine oil dipstick. Remove dipstick tube attaching bolt at intake manifold. Remove 2 nuts retaining pulse damper bracket to intake manifold. Disconnect air by-pass valve and TPS connector.
  4. Remove attaching bolts and nuts from throttle body and remove throttle body and gasket. Remove upper intake manifold attaching bolts and remove upper intake manifold and gasket.
