Exhaust Manifold: Removal

  1. Loosen cap on coolant expansion tank. Drain coolant from radiator. Remove return heater hose from water pump. Remove coolant pipe routing bracket at right front side of valve cover. Remove expansion tank hose at the coolant pipe. Disconnect turbocharger oil supply line at turbocharger.
  2. Disconnect turbocharger coolant supply and return tube at turbocharger. Disconnect PCV tube at turbocharger air inlet adapter. Remove nuts retaining turbocharger to exhaust manifold. Remove turbocharger support bracket and air tube.
  3. Remove turbocharger assembly from exhaust manifold. Remove exhaust manifold bolts and remove exhaust manifold assembly.
