Exhaust Manifold: Installation

  1. Ensure mating surfaces are thoroughly cleaned and smooth. Place exhaust manifold to head and install bolts. Tighten bolts in sequence (first step), to 15-17 ft. lbs. (20-23 N.m). See Figure.
  2. Tighten bolts in sequence (second step), to 20-30 ft. lbs. (27-41 N.m). To complete installation, reverse removal procedure. Tighten bolts/nuts to specifications. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  table at end of article.
