Cylinder Head: Removal

  1. Remove exhaust manifold, upper and lower intake manifold as previously described. Place No. 1 cylinder on TDC. Ensure all timing marks are aligned. Loosen timing belt tensioner adjusting bolt.
  2. Using Camshaft Belt Tensioner Tool (T74P-6254-A), pry tensioner away from belt and tighten tensioner adjusting bolt. Mark rotation of timing belt and remove timing belt.
  3. Using Camshaft Sprocket Holder/Remover (T74P-6256-B), remove camshaft sprocket. Slide belt guide off camshaft. Loosen timing belt tensioner adjusting bolt. Remove spring bolt, spring stud and adjusting bolt. Remove belt tensioner.
  4. Remove cylinder head bolts. Loosen cylinder head from gasket and block. Remove cylinder head assembly and gasket.
