Camshaft & Bearings: Installation

  1. Oil camshaft bearing journal in cylinder head. Using Camshaft Bearing Kit (T65L-6250-A), install No. 2 and No. 3 bearing. Ensure oil holes are aligned and lube bearing before installing.
  2. Install front bearing. Install No. 4 bearing with .001-.010" (.03-.25 mm), clearance from rear face of bearing bore and bearing. This will prevent interference with camshaft lock plate.
  3. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure. Thoroughly lube bearings and camshaft before installing. Ensure camshaft plug at rear of camshaft is reinstalled. Tighten all bolts/nuts to specifications.
