Camshaft & Bearings: Inspection

Check cylinder head for warpage. See INSPECTION under CYLINDER HEAD  in this article. Measure camshaft lobes across their maximum and minimum dimensions. The difference is lobe lift. Inspect for scoring and wear. Replace camshaft and followers if not within specifications. See CAMSHAFT SPECIFICATIONS  table in this article.
