Rear Main Bearing Oil Seal: Removal

Remove transmission assembly. Remove flywheel or flexplate. Using a sharp awl, punch hole into seal metal surface between lip and block. Using a slide hammer, remove seal.

CAUTION: DO NOT damage crankshaft seal surfaces. Remove deposits with crocus cloth, but DO NOT polish seal surface. A polished surface can cause poor sealing or early seal wear.
