Fitting Piston Pins: Reassembly

  1. Insert piston pin in piston pin bore. Measure and record amount that piston pin protrudes evenly on each side of piston. Remove piston pin. Align rod and piston as marked and noted at disassembly. Position rod in piston.
  2. Lubricate piston pin and insert pin into piston. Place piston, rod, pin and tooling in press. Check that piston is free on pin during reassembly. Press pin through piston until recorded amount from step 1) is achieved. Ensure rod is centered in piston.
