Coil Spring: Removal
- Raise and support rear of vehicle, under body. Rear wheels and suspension should hang free. Remove half-shaft to wheel stub shaft bolts. See Fig 1.

- Use wire to support half-shaft in a level position. Remove the brake hose retaining clip (on control arm). Disconnect brake tube from brake line.
- Remove protective cap from bottom of shock absorber. Using a floor jack, raise control arm enough to release coil spring pressure. Remove shock absorber lower nut and bolt.
- Slowly lower control arm and move floor jack to support axle housing (or support axle housing with jack stand). Remove bolts attaching rear axle mount to body, and disconnect axle vent tube. Slowly lower jack stand or floor jack until coil spring and upper seat can be removed.
