CROSSMEMBER Bushings: Removal
- Raise and support vehicle. Place jack stands under vehicle body. Tires and suspension should hang free. Raise control arm enough to eliminate coil spring pressure.NOTE: The control arm MUST be supported securely before removing bushing attaching bolt. If control arm is not supported, spring pressure will push the crossmember down when bushing is removed.
- Remove the crossmember bushing attaching bolt. See Fig 1. Remove bushing guide plate bolts and guide plate. Lower crossmember slightly. To remove crossmember bushing, use Bushing Remover Adapter (T85M-5638-B2), Remover Bridge (T85M-5638-B1) and Drawbolt (T79P-5638-A1). See Fig 2.
