Removal & Installation: CROSSMEMBER: Removal

1. Install Engine Support Fixture (D76P-6000-B). See Fig 1. Raise and support vehicle. Remove control arm pivot bolts. To remove control arm inner end from crossmember, pull bottom of tire outward.
2. Remove steering column pinch bolt. See Fig 2. Remove steering gear attaching bolts. Disengage steering gear from coupling. Slightly pull steering gear forward, and away from crossmember.
   NOTE: DO NOT remove, stretch or bend the power steering lines. Use wire to support the steering gear.
3. Remove engine mount lower stud nuts. Support crossmember using transmission jack. Remove bolts attaching crossmember to side rail. Lower crossmember from vehicle.
