Rear Wheel Cylinder: Removal

  1. Remove wheel and brake drum. Disconnect wheel cylinder brake line. Plug line to prevent loss of fluid and entry of dirt.
  2. Pull primary shoe away from wheel cylinder. The self-adjuster cam will rotate outward to hold brake shoes away from wheel cylinder. Remove wheel cylinder attaching bolts, wheel cylinder and "O" ring.
