Oil Pressure Indicator
NOTE:
On models equipped with engine warning lamp, temperature switch wire must be removed prior to oil pressure gauge testing.
- Turn ignition on (DO NOT start engine). At this time, oil indicator light should illuminate. If not, remove sending unit wire connector and attach to ground.
- If light now comes on, replace sending unit. If the light does not illuminate, the lamp is burned out or an open exists in the wiring harness between gauge and ground.
- If the indicator light illuminates continuously, check oil level and add if necessary. Remove sending unit wire. If light remains on, remove sending unit and verify oil pressure is 40-60 psi (2.9-4.2 kg/cm2 ) at 2000 RPM.
- If light is still on, replace sending unit or repair short circuit in wiring harness between switch and lamp.
