Fuel Gauge

Disconnect fuel gauge sending unit wire at fuel tank. Connect an ohmmeter between fuel gauge sender wire (Blue/Red) and ground. See Fig 1 . When the fuel tank is empty, ohmmeter should read approximately 250 ohms. With a full tank of fuel, meter should read approximately 20 ohms. If gauge readings are not to specification, replace the sending unit.
