Power Brake Booster
When brake pedal is released, a vacuum port is opened and atmospheric pressure in the rear chamber is drawn into the front chamber of the brake booster and from there to the intake manifold. Assisted by the diaphragm return spring, the atmospheric port remains closed while the input rod assembly returns to its original position. The diaphragm is then again suspended in vacuum until the next brake application.
