Normal Operation

During each vehicle start sequence, when the key is turned to the START or ON position, the Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) transceiver reads the PATS  key ID code and sends the data to the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC). If the concern is due to a PATS  concern, PATS  DTCs can set in the IPC  , and DTC P1260:61 in the Transmission Control Module (TCM). If it is due to a starting system, or a driveability concern, there is no PATS  DTCs in the IPC  or DTC P1260 in the PCM or DTC P1260:61 in the TCM  .
