Symptom Table - Transaxle Cooling

SYMPTOM TABLE - TRANSAXLE COOLING

Condition Possible Sources Action
  • Motor Electronics Cooling System (MECS) overheating
  • Clogged MECS  radiator or hoses
  • INSPECT the MECS  radiator and hoses for damage or plugging.

  • Kinked MECS  hoses
  • MECS  leaks
  • INSTALL a new MECS  radiator or hoses as necessary.
  • INSPECT the MECS  radiator and hoses for leaks. REPAIR or INSTALL new components as necessary.

  • MECS  pump does not operate
  • Air in cooling system
  • CHECK the MECS  pump electrical system. Go to PINPOINT TEST A .
  • Loosen the MECS  bleed screw located on the DC/DC converter to bleed any air from the cooling system.

  • Radiator cooling fans
  • Internal transaxle concerns
