Normal Operation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2007 Mercury Mariner and 2007 Ford Escape. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The 4WD indicator informs the operator that a failure has occurred in the automatic 4WD feature or that the 4WD feature is temporarily locked or disabled. The 4WD indicator status is transmitted to the instrument cluster from the 4WD module through the communication network.
