Evaporative Emission Canister: Installation

  1. Install the EVAP canister assembly, nuts and bolts.
    • Tighten to 7 Nm (62 lb-in).
  2. Attach the wiring harness pin-type retainer to the EVAP canister bracket.
  3. Connect the fuel vapor tube quick connect coupling to the EVAP canister. For additional information, refer to FUEL SYSTEM-GENERAL INFORMATION .
  4. Connect the fuel vapor control tube assembly valve quick connect coupling to the fuel vapor vent valve. For additional information, refer to FUEL SYSTEM-GENERAL INFORMATION .
  5. Connect the fuel vapor hose to the dust separator.
  6. Connect the EVAP canister vent solenoid electrical connector.
  7. Connect the fuel vapor vent valve electrical connector.
  8. Connect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .
  9. Carry out the EVAP system leak test. For additional information, refer to EVAPORATIVE EMISSION SYSTEM LEAK TEST .
  10. Carry out the EVAP repair verification drive cycle. For additional information, refer to EVAPORATIVE EMISSION REPAIR VERIFICATION DRIVE CYCLE .
