Removal and Installation

- Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .
- Disconnect the evaporative emission (EVAP) purge valve electrical connector.
- Disconnect the 2 EVAP tube quick connect couplings. For additional information, refer to FUEL SYSTEM-GENERAL INFORMATION .
- Remove the EVAP canister purge valve.
- Depress the lock tab on the EVAP canister purge valve and release it from the bracket.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Leak test the system. For additional information, refer to EVAPORATIVE EMISSION SYSTEM LEAK TEST .
- Carry out the evaporative emission repair verification drive cycle. For additional information, REFER to the INTRODUCTION - GASOLINE article.
