Pinpoint Test Z: The Daytime Running Lamps (DRL) Are On With The Ignition Switch Off

NOTE: Use the correct probe adapter(s) when making measurements. Failure to use the correct probe adapter(s) may damage the connector.

Z1 CHECK THE HEADLAMP SYSTEM
- Key in OFF position.
- Disconnect: DRL Module C1030
- Do the headlamps continue to illuminate?
1. YES : REFER to Headlamps .
2. NO : Go to Z2.
Z2 CHECK CIRCUIT 294 (WH/LB) FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE
- Measure the voltage between the DRL module C1030-3, circuit 294 (WH/LB), harness side and ground.
- Is any voltage present?
1. YES : REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
2. NO : Go to Z3.
Z3 CHECK FOR CORRECT DRL MODULE OPERATION
- Disconnect the DRL module connector.
- Check for:
  - corrosion
  - damaged pins
  - pushed-out pins
- Connect the DRL module connector and make sure it seats correctly.
- Operate the system and verify the concern is still present.
- Is the concern still present?
1. YES : INSTALL a new DRL module. REFER to Daytime Running Lamps (DRL) Module .
2. NO : The system is operating correctly. The concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector.
