Transmission Fluid Cooler Tubes: Installation

4.6L engines 

  1. Loosely install the fluid cooler tube bracket at the engine.

    4.0L engines 

  3. Loosely install the fluid cooler tube bracket at the engine.

    All vehicles 

  5. Install the fluid cooler hoses on the fluid cooler tubes and install the secondary latches onto the tubes.

    NOTE: Use a backup wrench to hold the case fitting secure.
  7. Install the fluid cooler tubes at the transmission.
    • Tighten to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).

    4.6L engines 

  9. Tighten the fluid cooler tube bracket nut at the engine.
    • Tighten to 48 Nm (35 lb-ft).

    4.0L engines 

  11. Tighten the fluid cooler tube bracket bolt at the engine.
    • Tighten to 48 Nm (35 lb-ft).

    All vehicles 

  13. Fill the transmission with clean automatic transmission fluid and verify correct operation.
