Crankshaft Pulley: Removal

- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING AND LIFTING .
- Remove the Air Cleaner (ACL) outlet pipe. For additional information, refer to INTAKE AIR DISTRIBUTION AND FILTERING .
- Remove the accessory drive belt. For additional information, refer to ACCESSORY DRIVE .
- Using the Strap Wrench, hold the crankshaft pulley, remove the bolt and washer.
- Install the crankshaft pulley bolt 2 to 3 turns. Using the Crankshaft Vibration Damper Removers and the two 8-mm bolts, remove the crankshaft pulley.
- Discard the crankshaft pulley bolt.
NOTE:
This bolt is torque-to-yield and cannot be reused.
NOTE:
If the pulley bolt is not installed, the tool will bottom out before the pulley is off.
