Exterior Door Handle: Removal

  1. Raise the door window glass to the full-up position.
  2. Remove the door trim panel. For additional information, refer to INTERIOR TRIM AND ORNAMENTATION .
  3. If equipped, remove the door lock cylinder. For additional information, refer to Door Lock Cylinder .
    4. NOTE: Push upward on the exterior door handle actuating rod when installing the rod into the retaining clip.
  4. Open the exterior door handle actuating clip and disconnect the actuating rod.

    NOTE: Two exterior door handle studs must be removed on the RH side.
  5. Remove the exterior door handle studs.

  6. Slide the exterior door handle rearward and remove.
