Door Latch: Removal

    NOTE: LH side shown, RH side similar.
  1. Remove the door trim panel. For additional information, refer to INTERIOR TRIM AND ORNAMENTATION .
  2. Position the watershield aside.
  3. Disconnect the exterior door handle actuating rod.

  5. Remove the 3 door latch bolts.
  6. Disconnect the manual lock rod.

  8. If equipped, disconnect the door lock cylinder actuating rod.

  10. Disconnect the 2 wiring harness electrical connectors.

  12. Remove the cable cover.
    • Release the clip.
    • Remove the pin-type retainer.
  13. CAUTION: Make sure the interior door handle actuating cable does not kink or damage to the cable may occur.
  14. Disconnect the interior door handle actuating cable.

  16. Remove the door latch.
