Normal Operation

Remote locking and unlocking of the doors, activating the panic alarm, and releasing the luggage compartment latch is accomplished by the smart junction box (SJB) receiving a command message from the remote keyless entry (RKE) transmitter through the tire pressure monitoring system/remote keyless entry (TPMS/RKE) external antenna. The SJB processes the command and provides the appropriate output.

The SJB will disable the PANIC feature if the ignition key is in any position other than OFF or LOCK.

The SJB will disable the luggage compartment lid release if the vehicle is moving faster than 5 km/h (3 mph) or faster.
