Lower Arm: Installation

    NOTE: The rear suspension lower arms are interchangeable from side-to-side, with OUTBOARD stamped on one side of the arms for positioning during installation.
  1. Position the lower arm and loosely install the lower arm-to-frame bolt and flagnut.
  2. Loosely install the lower arm-to-axle nut and bolt.

  4. Before tightening the fasteners, use a suitable jack to raise the suspension until the distance between the lip of the fender and the center of the wheel hub is equal to the measurement taken in the removal procedure.
  5. Tighten the lower arm-to-frame nut to 150 Nm (111 lb-ft).
  6. Tighten the lower arm-to-axle nut to 150 Nm (111 lb-ft).
  7. Install the wheel and tire. For additional information, refer to WHEELS & TIRES article.
  8. WARNING: If the vehicle is equipped with a fire suppression system, repower the system. For important safety warnings and procedures, refer to FIRE SUPPRESSION SYSTEM article. Failure to follow these instructions may result in serious personal injury.
  9. If equipped with fire suppression system, repower the system.
