Removal And Installation

  1. Remove the instrument panel steering column cover. For additional information, refer to INSTRUMENT PANEL AND CONSOLE article.
  2. Remove the ignition lock cylinder.
    1. Insert the ignition key into the ignition lock cylinder and turn to the ON position.
    2. Push the ignition lock cylinder release button with a suitable tool while pulling out the ignition lock cylinder.
  3. Remove the 3 screws and the lower steering column shroud.
  4. Remove the PATS transceiver screw.
  5. Remove the PATS transceiver.
    • Disconnect the electrical connector.
  6. NOTE: Replacement of the PATS transceiver does not require the PATS keys to be programmed into the powertrain control module (PCM) again.
  7. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
