Horn Switch: Removal

Never probe the electrical connectors on air bag, safety canopy or side air curtain modules. Failure to follow this instruction may result in the accidental deployment of these modules, which increases the risk of serious personal injury or death.

To reduce the risk of accidental deployment, do not use any memory saver devices. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury or death.
- Remove the driver side air bag module. For additional information, refer to SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM article.
- Place the driver air bag on a protected surface.
- Remove the horn switch connector from the retaining tab.NOTE: Be careful not to damage the tabs on the sides of the air bag when flipping up the cover.
- Loosen the 2 screws, but do not remove them from the air bag cover.
- Flip the driver air bag cover into the open position and disengage the tabs on both sides of the air bag.
- Remove the horn switch.
- Mark the old horn switch with an X.
