Brake Shift Interlock Actuator - Floor Shift: Installation

  1. Install the brake shift interlock actuator.
    • Install the brake shift interlock actuator and install the 2 screws.
    • Install the bulb into the housing
    • Install a new tie strap on the wire harness.

  2. Connect the electrical connector.
    • Connect the overdrive cancel button electrical connector.
    • Install a new tie strap to the wire harness.

  3. Position the transmission selector lever assembly in the console and install the bolts.
    • Tighten to 12 Nm (9 lb-ft).

  4. Connect the transmission floor shift harness electrical connector.

    NOTE: When installing the selector lever cable, make sure that the selector lever cable locking tabs are locked in place and the cable end is snapped onto the ball stud. Press the selector lever cable into the bracket and listen for the cable to click in place. Pull back on the selector lever cable to make sure that it is locked into the bracket. Also make sure that the selector lever cable end is correctly installed onto the ball stud. Pull back on the selector lever cable end to make sure that the cable end is correctly installed.
  5. Install the transmission selector lever cable in the transmission selector lever cable bracket.

    NOTE: When installing the selector lever cable, make sure that the selector lever cable locking tabs are locked in place and the cable end is snapped onto the ball stud. Press the selector lever cable into the bracket and listen for the cable to click in place. Pull back on the selector lever cable to make sure that it is locked into the bracket. Also make sure that the selector lever cable end is correctly installed onto the ball stud. Pull back on the selector lever cable end to make sure that the cable end is correctly installed.
  6. Connect the transmission selector lever cable to the transmission selector lever arm.

  7. Install the console finish panel.
  8. Install the left console kick panel.
