Pinpoint Test G: The Illuminated Entry Is Inoperative When Using The Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) Transmitter

  1. G1 CHECK FOR CORRECT RKE OPERATION 
    • Using the RKE transmitter, lock and unlock the doors.
    • Do the doors lock and unlock? 

    Yes  : GO to G2.

    No  : REFER to HANDLES, LOCKS, LATCHES AND ENTRY SYSTEMS to continue diagnosis of the RKE system.

  2. G2 CHECK FOR CORRECT SJB OPERATION 
    • Disconnect all the SJB connectors.
    • Check for:
      • Corrosion
      • Pushed-out pins
    • Connect all the SJB connectors and make sure they seat correctly.
    • Operate the system and verify the concern is still present.
    • Is the concern still present? 

    Yes  : INSTALL a new SJB. REFER to MULTIFUNCTION ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULES . TEST the system for normal operation.

    No  : The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. TEST the system for normal operation.
