Normal Operation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2006 Mercury Milan, 2006 Lincoln Zephyr, and 2006 Ford Fusion. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The low fuel warning indicator is illuminated when the fuel level reaches a predetermined level of approximately 1/8 tank. The low fuel warning indicator and the fuel gauge are controlled by the instrument cluster based upon the fuel level data provided by the fuel sender. When the instrument cluster receives the data, the fuel gauge indicates low fuel and the instrument cluster illuminates the low fuel warning indicator.
