Pinpoint Test H: Spongy Brake Pedal With No Warning Indicator

H1 CHECK THE VEHICLE COMPONENT MOUNTING
- Inspect the brake pedal and brake booster/brake master cylinder for correct attachment.
- Bleed the brake system. Refer to BRAKE SYSTEM-GENERAL INFORMATION .
- Is the brake pedal still spongy?
Yes : GO to H2.

No : The brake system is operating correctly. The concern may have been caused by air in the hydraulic system.
H2 BLEED THE BRAKE SYSTEM
- Bleed the brake system using the scan tool. Refer to BRAKE SYSTEM-GENERAL INFORMATION .
- Is the brake pedal spongy?
Yes : REFER to BRAKE SYSTEM-GENERAL INFORMATION .

No : The brake system is operating correctly. The concern may have been caused by air in the hydraulic control unit (HCU).
