Removal and Installation

- Recover the refrigerant. For additional information, refer to CLIMATE CONTROL SYSTEM-GENERAL INFORMATION AND DIAGNOSTICS .
- Remove the tube clamp.
- Remove the clamps and remove the intercooler tube (if equipped).
- To install, tighten to 4 Nm (35 lb-in).
- Disconnect the condenser to evaporator line from the A/C evaporator core. For additional information on the spring lock couplings disconnect and connect procedure, refer to CLIMATE CONTROL SYSTEM-GENERAL INFORMATION AND DIAGNOSTICS .
- Remove the 8 pin-type retainers and the sight shield.
- Disconnect the condenser-to-evaporator line from the A/C condenser core and remove the line.
- To install, tighten to 8 Nm (71 lb-in).
- Discard the O-ring seals.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Install new O-ring seals.
- Lubricate the refrigerant system with the correct amount of clean PAG oil. For additional information, refer to CLIMATE CONTROL SYSTEM-GENERAL INFORMATION AND DIAGNOSTICS .
- Evacuate, leak test and charge the refrigerant system. For additional information, refer to CLIMATE CONTROL SYSTEM-GENERAL INFORMATION AND DIAGNOSTICS .
