Engine Support Insulators: Installation

    RH engine mount 

    CAUTION: Clean the engine mount bracket-to-cylinder block mating surfaces of any dirt or foreign material prior to installation.
  1. Position the RH engine mount bracket and install the 4 bolts.
    • Tighten to 63 Nm (46 lb-ft).

    2. CAUTION: Clean the engine mount-to-chassis mating surfaces of any dirt or foreign material prior to installation.
  2. Position the RH engine mount and install the 4 bolts.
    • Tighten to 63 Nm (46 lb-ft).

    3. LH engine mount 

    CAUTION: Clean the engine mount-to-oil filter adapter and engine mount-to-chassis mating surfaces of any dirt or foreign material prior to installation.
  3. Position the LH engine mount and install the 3 bolts.
    • Tighten to 63 Nm (46 lb-ft).

    4. All vehicles 

  4. Lower the engine into position.
    5. CAUTION: Only use hand tools when installing the RH engine mount nut or damage to the engine mount can occur.
    NOTE: RH shown, LH similar.
  5. Install the 6 engine mount nuts.
    • Tighten to 103 Nm (76 lb-ft).

    6. CAUTION: Only use hand tools when installing the transmission mount-to-crossmember nuts or damage to the transmission mount can occur.
  6. Install the transmission mount-to-crossmember nuts.
    • Tighten to 103 Nm (76 lb-ft).

  7. Position the Y-pipe and install the 4 nuts.
    • Tighten to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).

  8. Remove the special tools.

  9. If installing the RH engine mount, install the starter. For additional information, refer to STARTING SYSTEM - GASOLINE ENGINES .
  10. Install the upper cooling fan shroud. For additional information, refer to ENGINE COOLING .
  11. Install the generator. For additional information, refer to GENERATOR AND REGULATOR .
  12. Install the air cleaner housing. For additional information, refer to INTAKE AIR DISTRIBUTION & FILTERING .
  13. Connect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .
