Normal Operation
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2006 Mercury Mariner and 2006 Ford Escape. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
Under normal conditions, when the blower motor switch is placed in the low, Ml or M2 positions and the function selector switch is in any position except OFF, the blower motor switch completes the circuit 261 (OG/BK) from the blower motor through the blower motor resistor, and to ground. The current flows through 1 to 3 resistors, depending on the selected blower motor speed.
