Removal and Installation

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING .
  2. Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .
  3. Remove the 7 bolts and the LH splash shield.
    • To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).

  4. Disconnect the catalyst monitor sensor electrical connector and detach the wiring retainer(s).
  5. NOTE: If necessary, lubricate the sensor threads with penetrating and lock lubricant to assist in removal.
  6. Using the special tool, remove the catalyst monitor sensor.
    • To install, tighten to 48 Nm (35 lb-ft).

  7. NOTE: Apply a light coat of anti-seize lubricant to the threads of the catalyst monitor sensor.
  8. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
