Removal and Installation

All vehicles

NOTE: Vehicles that are not equipped with A/C have 2 idler pulleys.

With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING .
Remove the 5 bolts and the RH splash shield.
- To install, tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).

Early build vehicles

Using the pulley bolt, rotate the accessory drive belt tensioner clockwise and remove the accessory drive belt from the idler pulley.

Late build vehicles

Using the hex feature, rotate the accessory drive belt tensioner clockwise and remove the accessory drive belt from the idler pulley.

All vehicles

Loosen the bolt and remove the accessory drive belt idler pulley.
- To install, tighten to 48 Nm (35 lb-ft).
To install, reverse the removal procedure.
