Removal and Installation

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING .
  2. Disconnect the breather tube and mass air flow (MAF) sensor.

  3. Remove the intake tube and air cleaner cover.

  4. Remove the air cleaner assembly.

  5. Remove the mount through bolt.
    • To install, tighten to 115 N.m (85 lb-ft).
  6. Remove the 1 retaining bolt and the 2 nuts for the mount and remove the mount.
    • To install, tighten to 90 N.m (66 lb-ft) (vehicles built through 10/2005).
    • To install, tighten to 80 N.m (59 lb-ft) (vehicles built after 10/2005).
  7. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
