Pinpoint Test C: The Alarm System Does Not Arm/Disarm - Using The Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) Transmitter Or RKE Keypad

- C1 CHECK THE RKE KEYPAD AND THE RKE TRANSMITTER FOR DOOR LOCK OPERATION
- Lock and unlock the door locks using the RKE transmitter and RKE keypad.
- Do the door locks operate correctly?
Yes : GO to C2.
No : REFER to HANDLES, LOCKS, LATCHES AND ENTRY SYSTEMS to continue diagnosis of the power locks.
- C2 CHECK THE COURTESY LAMP OPERATION
- Verify the doors are locked.
- Press the UNLOCK button on the RKE transmitter.
- Press the LOCK button on the RKE transmitter.
- Do the courtesy lamps illuminate then go out?
Yes : GO to C3.
No : REFER to INTERIOR LIGHTING to continue diagnosis of the courtesy lamps.
- C3 CHECK THE ALARM SYSTEM FOR PROPER OPERATION USING THE RKE TRANSMITTER
- Verify both windows are down.
- Arm the perimeter anti-theft system using the RKE transmitter.
- Trigger the alarm by opening the driver or passenger door from the inside after the 20 second pre-arm phase.
- Does the alarm operate correctly?
Yes : GO to C4.
No : GO to C5.
- C4 CHECK THE ALARM SYSTEM FOR PROPER OPERATION USING THE RKE KEYPAD
- Arm the perimeter anti-theft system using the RKE keypad.
- Trigger the alarm by opening the driver or passenger door from the inside.
- Does the alarm operate correctly?
Yes : The anti-theft system is operating correctly. CLARIFY the concern with the customer.
No : GO to C5.
- C5 CHECK FOR CORRECT LCM OPERATION
- Disconnect all the LCM connectors.
- Check for:
- corrosion
- pushed-out pins
- Connect all the LCM connectors and make sure they seat correctly.
- Operate the system and verify the concern is still present.
- Is the concern still present?
Yes : INSTALL a new LCM. REFER to MULTIFUNCTION ELECTRONIC MODULES . CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
No : The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
