Normal Operation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2006 Mercury Grand Marquis and 2006 Ford Crown Victoria. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The fire suppression module (FSM) is hardwired to the instrument cluster through circuit 2318 (LG/RD), and is grounded through circuit 1203 (LG/RD). If a fault occurs in the fire suppression system, a diagnostic trouble code(s) are set and the FSM grounds circuit 2318 (LG/RD) to illuminate the fire suppression system indicator. The FSM connector is equipped with a shorting bar that will ground circuit 2318 (LG/RD) when the FSM is disconnected to illuminate the fire suppression system indicator.
