Normal Operation

The instrument cluster (IC) receives the engine RPM and digital transmission range (TR) sensor status messages from the PCM over the high speed controller area network (HS-CAN), and if the engine speed is greater than 400 RPM, it records the amount of time the engine runs with the transmission in PARK (P) or NEUTRAL (N).
