Exterior Front Door Handle: Removal

    All Front Doors 

  1. Remove the front door interior trim panel. For additional information, refer to INTERIOR TRIM AND ORNAMENTATION .
  2. Remove the bolt and position the interior door handle aside.
  3. Position the watershield aside.
  4. If equipped, disconnect the exterior mirror electrical connector.
  5. If equipped, disconnect the remote keyless entry (RKE) keypad and front door disarm switch electrical connectors.
  6. Push the wiring harness grommet through the door module.
  7. Reconnect the window regulator and window switch electrical connectors and position the front door window to access the glass clamp bolts.
  8. Disconnect the window regulator and window switch electrical connectors
  9. Loosen the 2 window glass clamp bolts.
    • Position the window fully up and secure it with tape.
  10. If equipped, remove the door lock cylinder circlip and position the front door lock cylinder rod and pawl aside.
  11. If equipped, remove the front door lock cylinder pawl from the actuating rod.
  12. Open the yellow clip and disconnect the exterior door handle actuating rod from the front door latch.
  13. Remove the 3 front door latch bolts.
  14. Remove the 11 bolts and position the door module aside.

    15. Left Front Door 

  15. Remove the nut and the exterior door handle cap.

  16. Remove the door lock cylinder.
  17. Shift the exterior door handle rearward and remove the exterior door handle.
  18. Remove the exterior door handle gasket.
  19. Loosen the exterior door handle reinforcement bolt.
  20. Remove the exterior door handle reinforcement from inside the door.

    21. Right Front Door 

    CAUTION: Hold the bezel cap when removing the bolt or damage to the door may occur.
  21. Using a T-5 torx socket installed on the bolt tip, loosen the bezel cap bolt until the bezel cap can be removed.
  22. Shift the exterior door handle rearward and remove the exterior door handle.
  23. Remove the exterior door handle gasket.
  24. Loosen the exterior door handle reinforcement bolt.
  25. Remove the exterior door handle reinforcement from inside the door.
  26. Release the bezel cap from the bezel and remove the bezel cap bolt.
